Bringing Fresh Produce to Schools: A Look at Our Latest Produce Pop-Up
Students and families receiving over 2,000 pounds of fresh produce at a Pop-Up Produce event at Curren School in Oxnard.
At SEEAG, we believe that fresh, nutritious food should be accessible to everyone. That’s why our Produce Pop-Up events bring locally grown produce directly to schools, ensuring that families—especially those in Title 1 schools—have access to fresh fruits and vegetables. These pop-ups not only provide food but also nutrition resources and food access information, all in the spirit of equity and community support.
A Huge Success at Curren School in Oxnard!
We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who made our recent Produce Pop-Up at Curren Elementary such a success! Thanks to the generous donations of produce boxes and contributions from local farms, we were able to distribute over 2,000 pounds of fresh food to families in the community. Families had the opportunity to receive a pre-packaged produce box as well as hand-select fresh fruits and vegetables, ensuring they could choose items best suited for their needs. Every single one of the 360 produce boxes went directly into the hands of Curren families, providing them with high-quality, nutritious produce.
A special thank you to our incredible farm and food bank partners who made this possible:
Duda Farm Fresh Foods donated over 1,000 bags of fresh celery.
Food Share donated 360 produce boxes filled with fresh, nutritious food.
Food Forward, a gleaning nonprofit, provided over seven boxes of delicious mandarin oranges harvested in Ojai.
Gill’s Onions generously contributed over 500 pounds of onions.
We also want to extend our deepest gratitude to the Curren Elementary PTA volunteers and staff for helping facilitate this event. Your support ensured a smooth and successful distribution, and we couldn’t have done it without you!
