Produce Pop Up Events

Interested in Hosting a Produce Pop-up?

Community members attending a local produce pop up, grabbing sweet potatoes and cabbage

As part of SEEAG’s Mission, we are excited to offer Produce Pop-Ups at different school sites. These events function as mini farmer’s markets, where our team visits school sites to distribute free produce and provide resources on local food access and seasonal eating. Our Produce Pop-Up is completely free for those interested in hosting, and we specifically aim to collaborate with Ventura County and Santa Barbara County Title 1 schools to provide an after-school food distribution opportunity.

What to Expect at Our Free Pop-Up Booth
Attendees can enjoy:

  • Fresh produce

  • Food samples & recipes (in both Spanish and English)

  • Farmer's Market /CalFresh/EBT/Market Match information (in both Spanish and English)

Additionally, we are eager to partner with the community to table at wellness events, health fairs, and farmers markets! SEEAG is looking to collaborate with health care agencies, non-profit organizations, and administrators and teachers at Ventura and Santa Barbara County K-12 schools.

Our Mission & Vision

Our purpose for the Produce Pop Up Booth is to enhance community health and engagement through nutrition education and free resource distribution. We reach out and partner with local farms to donate local, seasonal produce and highlight the top and specialty crops in both Ventura County and Santa Barbara County. Our mission is to educate students and the greater community about the farm origins of food and agriculture’s contribution to our nutritional well-being.

Our vision is to inspire our local communities to have a deep appreciation for agriculture and the hands and lands that feed us, ensuring the future viability of agriculture in rural and urban communities. We aim to cultivate a generation that recognizes the essential connection between agriculture and nutrition, encouraging healthier lifestyles and eating habits while improving the overall wellness of our communities.

We firmly believe that promoting food security and healthy habits takes a village, and through these Produce Pop Up Events, we hope to expand our mission of agricultural, nutritional, and wellness literacy.
