Youth Education Lead
Pimienta is a dedicated outdoor educator with a passion for environmental justice and edible education. She holds extensive experience in garden-based learning, children's education, and community engagement, particularly within under-resourced populations. Pimienta’s commitment to sustainability and empowering communities has driven her work, which focuses on using food and agriculture to promote ecological awareness and social equity.
Throughout her career, Pimienta has held various roles, including teaching students about food and nutrition with FRESHFARM FoodPrints in Washington, DC, and teaching outdoor education in Northern California. She has also lived in Spain, where she taught English. Pimienta has worked with diverse organizations, creating educational programs that foster a deeper connection to nature and food systems. With a hands-on and empathetic approach, she excels at creating dynamic and inclusive learning environments that engage and inspire all students.
Now as a Youth Education Lead at SEEAG, Pimienta leverages her experience and passion to inspire the next generation of environmental stewards through interactive programs that connect youth with agriculture, nutrition, and sustainability. She emphasizes the significance of connecting with the land, our farmers, and fostering relationships with food and community.
In her free time, Pimienta enjoys camping, hiking, cooking nutritious meals, cultivating the garden plot she shares with her sister, and exploring thrift stores for unique, sustainable finds.
