Dear Friends of SEEAG,
I grew up in Nevada City, California, a small town in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains. When I was seven, my father, a dedicated outdoorsman and Battalion Chief for Cal Fire, bought 60 acres of beautiful land near the Tahoe National Forest. This land quickly became my favorite spot on Earth.
For the past 23 years, my family has worked to care for this land, helping restore the forest and reduce fire risk by thinning dense tree growth. Inspired by our cheerful neighbor Willie, who runs one of the oldest Christmas tree lots in town, my dad has donated the trees we harvest every fall for the last 15 years. I feel so fortunate to be able to share these trees with you.
White and Red Fir (Silvertip) trees grow only above 3,000' and 5,000' - our property sits around 6,400'. Tagged and harvested in November, they’re fresher than any tree you’ll find on a typical lot and carry the unique story of the forest in their beautiful imperfections.
As you bring one of these trees into your home, I hope you feel the same love and joy that my family and I cherish.

Rob Paulus, father of SEEAG’s Executive Director, is a retired Cal Fire Battalion Chief who is dedicated to forest management and fire prevention in the northern Sierra Nevada mountain range.
By harvesting trees from their private land, Rob and his family work to thin overgrown forest stands, reduce catastrophic fire risk, and help restore the natural environment.
